Resumo: | This study is based on the theoretical framework of French Discourse Analysis (DA), more specifically on the notions of interdiscourse, discursive interincomprehension and simulacrum, postulated by Dominique Mainguenau in Genesis of discourses (2008a). Hereby it was analyzed the discursive polemic around the issue of Portuguese language in entertainment and news television shows of Rede Globo Television. The analysis aimed at demonstrating the functioning of semantic translations (carried out by journalists, reporters, interviewers and television hosts) in utterances related to Portuguese language, delivered by the interviewed. The corpus analysis consists of two interviews extracted from "Programa do Jô"; one interview from "Jornal Hoje"; and an excerpt from the morning news tv show "Bom dia, Brazil". From the methodological point of view, the corpus analysis builds on Pêcheux (1983), according to whom the analysis should imply an alternation between the moments of description and interpretation. It also buids on Maingueneau (2008a), to whom the data treatment should steam from hypotheses based on history and on a set of texts and such hypotheses may or may not be confirmed throughout the analyzes. The research revealed that the power play in the polemic varies, to some extent, according to the fact that the approach on Portuguese language issue may be or may not be related to teaching issues. If it is not related, the polemic between different discursive positionings enacts an apparent neutrality; In turn, if the focus of the debate is on Portuguese language teaching, the relationship of contradiction between the different positionings is open and heated. |
