Resumo: This work, of a qualitative nature, had as an investigative field a public school in the city of Uberlândia-MG. The subjects were students from the 9th year of Elementary School, in the second semester of 2021. The research was carried out in an atypical teaching context, considering the changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing new challenges to the constitution of a didactic proposal as an educational product of the first author's master's degree. It seeks to present pedagogical possibilities for a proposal of Financial Education and production of comics by students of basic education, having as a study tool the knowledge and practices of the History of Mathematics in the teaching of Mathematics. Financial Education in Mathematics classes is important for the critical formation of the student as a citizen and consumer. Comics, as didactic resources, have a playful and interdisciplinary character. The History of Mathematics, through the understanding of the historical facts that led to the development of concepts, allows considerations that can contribute to students' understanding of mathematical thinking. As a result of this research, the Educational Product entitled “Guidelines for the Production of Comics: A Didactic Proposal for School Financial Education in the light of the History of Mathematics” was created. The research results point to the importance of students acquiring knowledge in Financial Education to improve the quality of life, the development of citizenship and critical thinking and for making wise decisions for themselves and for society. The comics contributed to the materialization of the studied contents, through the development of imagination, creativity, reading and writing, and by relating the knowledge learned in the classroom with the experiences outside the school context. It was considered that the History of Mathematics, used as a basis and guide for the development of contents and skills of Financial Education, can help and re-signify mathematics, insert and rethink the role of the school in the training of students and create a greater bond between the institution school and everyday knowledge. It was also concluded the need to include digital technologies in teaching.
