Resumo: | Health policies have historically been constituted in field of social assistance. Since its implementation in the Unified Health System, public policies to support social work are supported by the increase in the demand for services and benefits. The main objective was the involvement of the work processes in the daily routine of social workers in the Integrated Care Units, Uberlândia (MG). The design of this study was a mixed methodology. For qualitative data collection, semi-structured individual interviews were used, and for quantitative data were extracted from the social worker procedures in the FastMedic Health Management System, between 2016 and 2017. Eight Social Service professionals selected through a random. It was developed a predominance of married women, with work time between 1 and 10 years and the contract holder. Trips enable a three-way sense to be formed: 1) Social worker actions, 2) Limiting factors of social activity, and 3) Free work sources performed by the social worker. The study concluded that social worker has advanced in its role of guarantor of rights of health users and the integration of multidisciplinary teams.
