Resumo: | The aim of this study is to analyse the causes that have influence in Math concept formation in the first two years of the elementary school (C.B.A.) and the significance of the didactic book in this process. The study has its support in principies of the cognitivism theory, specially from the authors: Ausubel, Piaget and Vigotsky and data collected from teachers from public schools. It also analyses data collected from the 40a S.R.E. (40a Regional Teaching Office) related to students success in Mathematics in the last years, in the beginning of the elementary school and about didactic books used in public schools of Uberlândia. All this study is related here with the difficulties of Math learning and with the contents and method present in the didactic books. It concludes that the didactic books analysed have their significance for education, although they are not quite based in the psychological and pedagogical theories of the presente days and they don’t bring the expected contribution to Math learning. Finally, some sugestions are presented in order to make those books really important for the teachers and students and to give their contribution to the improvement of Math teaching and consequently, to the concepts formation. |
