In the history of Western painting was developed pictorial poetics of time, elements of a context in which survives and interferes, in the contemporary language of painting, the allegorical image of ruin. Think about this survival and interference from images of art demand us a cross-sectional analysis that surpasses a mere chronology, taking into account and making dialogue different works, periods and cultural perspectives. Should be considered here since representational and figurative tradition of painting till to the contemporary dictions that seek to express and manifest, pictorially, the topic of the passage of time noticeable effort of some specific works in contemporary Brazilian artists in a field in which different layers of meaning and memory are manifested.
