Resumo: | Introduction: Satisfaction with appearance and improvement in quality of life are major outcomes in facial aesthetic procedures. The instruments based on the perspective of the patient (PRO) are considered important and stateof- the-art tool in surgical or non-surgical esthetic procedures. Objective: To translate culturally and validate the Face-Q - Satisfaction with Facial Appearence Overall scale into Portuguese. Mehtods: Fifty-eight women undergoing rhytidoplasty and other minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedures were selected from three plastic surgery outpatient clinics in the city of São Paulo between July 2016 and September 2017. Twenty patients participated in the adaptation phase cultural. The reproducibility was tested in 30 patients and the construct validity in 57 patients (via divergent validity and factorial analysis). Results: Factor analysis identified two factors (General Appearance and Face Geometry) with excellent internal consistency (α = 0.876; α = 0.903), respectively. The total satisfaction score comprising the nine items presented excellent internal consistency (α = 0.920). Intraobserver good reproducibility was found for the satisfaction score: General appearance (r = 0.983, CCI = 0.983, p <0.001), Geometry (r = 0.980, CCI = 0.970, p <0.001) and Total (r = 0.991; = 0.989, p <0.001). There was a difference in the means of satisfaction (total and factors) by location of the frontal and upper and lower eyelid procedures, and correlation between satisfaction and age and number of interventions. Conclusion: FACE Q - Satisfaction with Facial Appearance Overall was translated into Brazilian Portuguese, adapted to the cultural context, and proved to be reproducible, presenting face, content and construct validity. The Brazilian XVI version is composed of nine items and two dimensions and has been called FACE Q – Satisfação Geral com a Aparência da Face. |
