The interdependence relation among the most diverse linguistic codes, constructions about the health concepts, body and disease and the vulnerability of their condition of refugee require new thoughts about the way in which the State must guarantee the right to full access to health services. The purpose of this investigation is analyzing the social construction of the image of the refugee in the context of an transcultural mental health service specializes in the treatment of immigrants. I followed clinical cases discussions, educational activities and conducted interviews with the founders and health professionals of the mental health service. It is possible to note culture as a fundamental category in the sociological imagination of my native, supporting several classes with psychiatry residents, and it is present in the publications of the AT founders and in the interviews performed.
