Resumo: The objective of the Dissertation gift is to analyze the conditions of the basic sanitation, and to elaboration the map the areas of permanent preservation according to identify to the conflicts of use of the land ambient legislation, aiming at to subsidize the process of ambient management of the City of Salvador das Missões/RS. Where, the expression "basic sanitation" is understood as being the part of the sanitation of the environment that deals with problems that say respect to the water supply; it collects, treatment and ambient disposal adjusted of the sanitary sewers and solid residues; rain water collection, control of floodings. The "areas of permanent preservation" it will be considered the displayed one for the ambient legislation, Federal Forest Code, being, all the situated areas in steep places, and the edge of water course. The methodology applied in the accomplishment of the research involved, survey of bibliographical material; study of federal, state and municipal the legislation, referring to the basic sanitation and areas of permanent preservation; elaboration of the maps: of Declivities, of the hydrography Net and the Areas of Permanent Preservation, Map of Use of the Land, Map of Ambient Conflicts; work of field for the accomplishment of interviews with representatives of the local community. Through the analysis of the elaborated Maps it is observed that 69.5% of the declared Area of Permanent Preservation through the Ambient Legislation are being illegally explored with farming and/or urban activities. A total of 771,50 hectares where the edge bush was partially or total devastate. In relation to the basic sanitation, still it does not have installation of sewer nets and pluvial water collection, being that, in 10,9% of the residences the destination of the sanitary sewer is the open sky; 44,4% of the solid residues are collected by the Municipal City hall and deposited, without treatment, in the deposit garbage; 97,8% of the families possess installation of public water net. Through the results of the research one concludes that the necessity of the management of the natural resources had to the ambient impacts provoked by the illegal use of the Areas of permanent Preservation is urgent and precarious infrastructure of basic sanitation, what it can influence in the quality of life of the local population.
