Resumo: Geography in the school has a high degree transdisciplinary and for that to occur it is necessary allow the student comprehend the space through new pedagogical tools that make it able to investigate and understand about their actions in the world. In that context, this work aims to understand how general the Geographic Information System (GIS) as a teaching tool allows students the first year of high school integrated into the technical course in agriculture contextualize geographical knowledge and how this process occurs. Specific objectives included (a) developing GIS applications simulated as learning objects (LO), thus allowing the student to be able to contextualize the geographical knowledge through the complexity that covers the items present in the GIS, (b) include in the learning object elements interactive, with features such as simulators very similar to GIS and (c) make the learning object an application made entirely online. Methodologically, we performed the literature related to the topic under discussion. Subsequently, the data were collected and created space for the LO be applied with students. With the result of the research, it was observed that the GIS as LO has great potential to put knowledge into context, regarding teaching in geography.
