Resumo: This study verses about the function of the voice in the psychic constitution, considering the primary inscriptions that act on of the infans and evidence the place of the scandid voice on the psychism. It is composed of two chapters. The first one is a theoretical, clinical psychoanalytic study, based on Freud’s and Lacan’s studies, and on the effort of the authors to associate the scandid voice to the language and to the drive. It situates the subject, from an early stage, relating him/her to the maternal addressing. From the initial cries to the voice that appeals, through the engagement in the symbolizing matrix, arises to the voiceless object of the subject of enunciation, denoting the Other lack in the subject himself/herself. The second chapter manifests the way the subject engages on the bond with the other, assuming the tuned, melodious and scandid voice. To deepen the imaginary and symbolic contours of the voice, a object, the study approaches the diachronic timing of the vocal production of babies, linking them to the synchronic moments that evidence the constitution of the subject in Psychoanalysis. It also discusses the primary tensions of the psychic life, considering the observation of early child manifestations, based on excerpts from Freud’s and Lacan’s studies, to find records of such manifestations in the research carried out for this thesis. The research was an exploratory and descriptive case study, and the participants were two babies and their mothers. Cases were longitudinally followed up, from the time the babies were one to 11 months old. Two non-structured interviews and 11 moments of observation of free interactions among mothers and their babies were carried out. Scenes were video and audio recorded, as well as registered on a field diary. This effort enabled the discussion of the incident rhythmical primarity in the infans, demarcating the presence of the symbolic incidence already in the second month of life of the babies; the drive bond and the prosodic vocal contours, implicating the incorporation of the language, regarding fourmonths- old babies; the appealing voice and the objects that fall indicating, respectively, the delimitation of the sounding traces and the rest-object of the drive, in the ninth month; and the articulated voice, evidencing the crossing through the significants as concerns the subjects constituted by language, and the resonance of the scandid voice in 11 months-old babies. In conclusion, we claim that the subject reverberates in his/her body the timing of the maternal progression and contours, in a singular way, the voice, a object, remnant of the unspeakable. He/She appears every interval demarcated by the scandid voice, from the residues of the progress and makes from the unheard voice, voiceless object, in the twist of the drive return related to the invocation, vehicle of his/her desire.
