The main purpose of this dissertation is to investigate and rescue the production of the architect Luis Arthur Vallandro built in Santa Maria. Graduated at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS - in 1961, the architect had strong influence of Carioca and Paulista schools in his work, as well as of his academy, composed of the names responsible for the process of inserting the "new architecture" in the state capital. Through the recovery and analysis of the project at five residences, is possible to know the architectural value of works and the pioneering architectonic from him, exalting his contribution to the modern architecture in the city.
