Resumo: | This study analyses how the documentaries of TV OVO project Por Onde Passa a Memória da Cidade reframed the memory and built an identity of Santa Maria city. The initiative is composed of four non-ficcion movies that depict the history of two streets (1ª Quadra e Avenida Progresso) and two districts (Qu4tro Mistérios do Rosário e Trilhos do Itararé) of the city. The theoretical purpose starts from de idea of documentary as a place of memory and seeks to understand, from the reading of movies while communicative practices of communitarian sloping, in which ways these audiovisual productions put in practice a counter-hegemonic communication perspective, evocating a memory project for the city of Santa Maria. In this sense, we aim to reflect how the patrimony and memory are reframed and what identity is represented by these productions. In order to seek answers, we turned to bibliographic and documental research to understand the genesis of the project, as well as the method of film analysis from the perspective of the documentary aesthetics. The results pointed to a community media that although at times incorporates a hegemonic discourse of the past of the city, operates on the lines of counter-hegemonic memory and that represents Santa Maria from a project identity, in which the image "Railroad City" seeks to overcome the "Culture City". |
