Resumo: Issues related to the environment have been changing the way organizations are managed, influencing processes and bringing new perspectives and challenges. With this, companies, in general, are looking for ways to prosper in a competitive environment, adopting business models that have the purpose of developing a new society and that are capable of combining economic progress with the preservation of the environment, especially, promoting actions that integrate climate change, which are considered the greatest challenge of the century. Thus, this study aims to analyze the relationship between the business model oriented towards the management of climate change practices and the strategic posture in industries in the Brazilian chemical sector. The analysis of the business model will be carried out based on the studies by Boons and Lüdeke-Freund (2013) and Bocken et al. (2014). The management of climate change practices will be addressed under two dimensions, adaptation and mitigation, as proposed by IPCC (2014b) and Daddi et al. (2020). Finally, the strategic posture will be investigated from the assumptions of Schaltegger, Lüdeke-Freund and Hansen (2012). The characterization study of exploratory character and was developed from a study of semi-structured cases as chemical means for interviews of four industrial companies in the Brazilian chemical sector, participants of the Brazilian Association of Chemical Industries (Aqui). It was found the model of companies of projects more oriented towards the clients that modify its function of the current ones, in addition to future ones that its collaborators, suppliers and other interested parties in the development of a more sustainable project As the companies also took advantage of the resources, the promotion and political action in initiatives, energy efficiency, reuse and recycling, development and search for solutions for new product water and management of water resources. As four companies have a proactive strategy, showing that they are always in constant evolution seeking to minimize their impacts on the environment. From the results obtained, the pattern of change management that has been evidenced in companies is confirmed and has a model of association with the planned business posture.
