This research aimed to investigate how the members of CORAP think and elaborate the articulations between Leisure, culture and public spaces taking as a scene the Batalha dos Bombeiros Event. To carry out the research, we conducted on-site observations, documentary analysis and conducted interviews with CORAP members. To analyze the results, we used content analysis. The articulation between the categories Leisure, Hip Hop, Youth and Public Spaces allowed to look appreciably to the context of the city of Santa Maria. We take the Leisure as a human social dimension that articulates a time and space for the production of culture and knowledge. As far as the city is concerned, we believe that there is a need to build public spaces, to foster and stimulate them in a humanized way, providing people with ease, security and well-being. The Batalha dos Bombeiros Event is an example of a catalyst for the occupation of public spaces in the city. The participants of the event produce through Lazer a space of knowledge, creativity, coexistence, claim, social affirmation and enjoyment. Therefore, one can affirm that Leisure favors social relations, humanizing the subjects and consequently, potentiates the city
