Resumo: The use of podcasts as a pedagogical support presents several purposes and there are possibilities of using them in disciplines of different levels of education. It is a technology of easy portability and one of the most modern configurations among the sound formats available on the Web. However, although it is demonstrated as a resource favorable to teaching, what is perceived is that podcasts, once produced/used, they become diluted in the Net and are often not shared. In this perspective, digital repositories seem to be an option for users to find podcasts quickly and enable the process of searching for this technology. Digital repositories are online databases that organize the scientific production of an institution or thematic area in an organized way and can store files of different formats. Considering the above, this research aimed to present a proposal for a digital storage repository of podcasts for Education. As a methodological approach, it is a qualitative exploratory research. Regarding the means, Telematic research, having as reference four repositories maintained by Ministério da Educação ministry, MEC: Banco Internacional de Objetos Educacionais (BIOE), Portal do Professor, Rede Interativa Virtual da Educação (RIVED), and Portal Domínio Público. The analysis of the repositories was based on evaluation criteria related to metadata, institutionalization, users, visibility, and policies. The investigation aimed to verify the presence of podcasts and to guide the design of the repository proposal for podcasts. The results demonstrated that there is a shortage in relation to the availability of podcasts in these repositories, with the possibility of being inserted in the searched environments in a mistaken way without reliability to the searches. Among the positive points, we highlight adaptations of the repositories regarding aspects of accessibility and policies of the repositories, the latter fulfilling almost all the requirements questioned. Regarding the limitations of the repositories, we emphasize the lack of specific guidelines regarding metadata, object indexing, license types of repositories objects, and types of searches. We also observed a few motivational initiatives for the deposit of materials and lack of connection to social networks as well as few opportunities for interaction among users. In this sense, the creation of a repository where the users may search in a user-friendly and reliable way and may place and divulge their podcasts, justifies the accomplishment and the importance of this study.
