Ações socioambientais no espaço universitário: uma análise sobre a percepção da comunidade acadêmica do campus da UFSM/Palmeira das Missões - RS

Resumo: The concern with sustainability is a topic that has been discussed since the 70s, but only gained prominence from the 90s in the new global context has become an obligation for companies to develop environmental policies. Given the new scenario, companies are adopting sustainable measures, and environmental practices, including universities, which are the main forming citizens. In this sense, the present study has as main objective to analyze the perception of the members of the academic community UFSM - Palmeira das Missões on environmental actions held on campus. This is a qualitative study with exploratory and descriptive. The theoretical framework developed in the themes: sustainability and environmental responsibility; legislation and environment in the Public Administration; and the role of Federal Institutions of Higher Education. Data collection occurred in the first half of 2015 and was developed in three phases: analysis of documents, interviews and observation. Interviews were conducted with the components of the Campus Council is composed of 12 teachers, 2 students and 2 Administrative Technician. The documents were analyzed the PDI UFSM and Projects UFSM Campus Palmeira das Missions, which focused on sustainability issues and environmental preservation, as well as isolated actions were observed and had no records in the SIE. He has traveled the campus and conducted photographic record of environmental actions found on campus. For the analysis of the data was analyzed each answer given by respondents and highlighted the most important parts and relevant to the search. It was found that there are several environmental actions and the majority are perceived by the academic community and even if most do not have the knowledge of the Institutional Development Plan of the University, there is a great concern for the environment at the same time that there is a willingness of respondents to participate in environmental action projects on campus, there is therefore, according to the suggestion of the respondents, more disclosure and involvement of the academic community. The work ends with the finals of the author considerations, and suggests potential with measures to improve the identified actions and the implementation of other environmental initiatives on campus UFSM study.
