Resumo: To analyze the knowledge of farmers about the themes that involve social responsibility in the primary productive activities of agribusiness in the city of Palmeira das Missões-RS. The information was collected through the application of semi-structured interviews with open and closed questions to farmers, seeking to portray the reality he lived in his productive activities, as well as the understanding that this professional has about social responsibility and what practices are applied to his property. We interviewed 86 farmers and 10 specialists who provide advice to rural farmers in the municipality studied. The survey results were tabulated and the farms were divided into three different groups in order to characterize their size and thus create a typology of them. And, according to the data obtained, the characteristics of the properties can be considered small properties, since the studied municipality has 76% (seventy six percent) of them with up to 50 hectares. Regarding the interviewees regarding the knowledge about social responsibility in productive activities, even though the theme is quite broad and encompassing a diversity of actions and attitudes, it was evident that the vast majority do not have any knowledge, or very superficial. Those who have information are not conclusive, seeing clearly that respondents still do not have the size of their commitments to the topic and indirectly their responsibility to society, thus remaining the search for a deeper understanding.
