Resumo: | The main aim of this research is to understand the interconnection between the (tacit and explicit) dimensions of knowledge and its influences on the degree of knowledge management maturity. In addition, the other aim is to discuss the relation between the management dimensions and the generation of competitive organizational capacities. In this regard, it is understood as maturity of knowledge management the ability of firms to create and exercise (to a greater or lesser degree) the skills needed to manage knowledge internally. It is highlighted the incentives for their knowledge creation and diffusion, as verified within companies. This issue delimitation is justified by the relevance of knowledge, seen as an intangible asset, necessary to engender innovations. In order to meet the objectives of the research, a heterodox theoretical revision was carried out dealing with the concept of organizational knowledge. This research adopted the theoretical model of Nonaka and Takeuchi (N&T) about organizational knowledge management. Based on the fuzzy logic sets, the empirical application of this model was done in companies segmented by size (small, medium and large). Empirical evidence indicates that small and medium-sized enterprises have a lower maturity of knowledge management compared to large firms. However, even in large companies, this knowledge management is still at medium levels. The results show that it is necessary to structure and apply knowledge management models in Brazilian companies. |
