Resumo: Considering the expressive presence of publicity images nowadays, this research was proposed aiming at understanding deeply the meaning of advertisement with nature images through pedagogical workshops. The study consists of a qualitative analysis besides being a case study. Considering that advertisements are widely spread in our society, the Cultural Studies were chosen to guide this research. The workshop tried to foster the participants understanding in relation to a critical images reading, particularly the advertising ones, as well as to discuss and reflect about nature conceptions. 11 workshop implementations occurred, working with images for students of Teachers Formation Courses and also professionals of the Education area, totalizing 310 participants. The workshop made possible countless discussions and reflections about the role we educators represent for he media and how we as consumers answer to he attractions we are exposed to. In the advertisement reading, some privileged only the images, others the relation between textual elements and images, while others exposed what they felt in front of the advertisement. The discussions about nature conceptions showed some divergences, but there was convergence in affirming that nature can be used to sell all kind of things, and the way it is exposed in the media most of times do not demonstrate that there are environmental problems. Through the workshop evaluation form, it was possible to perceive that the participants were touched to the use of images in the classroom, but there are some limitations as the school table of contents and time. This research fits in the line of research Curriculum, Education and School Practices in the Post- Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM).
