Resumo: | Literature represents society through art, allowing us to understand much about a given society by analyzing its literary productions. In recent decades, queer theory has established itself as a powerful tool for interpreting a wide range of cultural products, revealing a heteronormative logic that permeates each individual’s existence. Santiago Nazarian is a Brazilian author who, in many of his works, creates characters that go beyond the limits imposed by the established cis/heteronormative standards. These characters are shaped as individuals who explore diverse possibilities of gender or even sexual interactions. This study analyzes certain characters from three of the author’s works: Mastigando humanos (2006), O prédio, o tédio e o menino cego (2009), and Fé no inferno (2020). Through a queer reading, it establishes connections regarding how these characters reflect much of the subjectivity that shapes human relationships and how fictional relationships can provide insights into real human connections. |
