Resumo: This study addresses the contributions of a geographic information system developed since the days of peace, for the planning and execution of a national mobilization to our country if faced with an international conflict. In this context, emphasis was given to Rio Grande do Sul, geographic area of responsibility of the 3rd Military Region (3rd MR), in which software is being deployed GeoMob. The emphasis of the study is given on this GIS software developed specifically to mobilize, through an agreement established between the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) with the 3rd RM. It presents tools and potential as a solution to the integration of information, processes, methods and techniques for the production of knowledge and advice tool in decision making. Brazil presents the potential targets of greed of other nations, proving the likelihood of Brazil suffer any interference from abroad. Explicitly provided for in the National Defense Policy (NDP) and the National Defense Strategy (EDN), documents Mobilization activity directors in the country, noting also the National Mobilization System (SINAMOB) Military, Mobilization System (SISMOMIL) and the Army Mobilization System (SIMOBE). The concept of Geographic Information System (GIS) and database, highlighting its features, capabilities, efficiency and convenience in favor of a mobilization, approaching from the possibilities of increasing the control of materials to dynamic control of logistics.
