Resumo: The paper has the main goal presents the two levels of instruction: Elementary and High School in Santa Maria city, Rio Grande do Sul State, proposed curricula focused on Environmental Education objectivity as well a provision of a Treaty on Environmental Objective Education and a Thematic Dictionary, connected to the respective curricula students making the city of Santa Maria's the only city in Brazil to have a standard of living environmentally oriented. To reach the entire process proposed were searched students' knowledge in two school levels (elementary and high school of public organizations) on the environmental issues facing the Renewable Natural Resources, in its practical character and purpose. By analysis of the instruments of assessments will have been able to verify the level of knowledge that lies in the student community in Santa Maria and, by this way, we will produce the complement of the knowledge necessary to understand the environmental sustainability and total comprehensive in Santa Maria. The sample of schools was completed with a statistical planning. How guidelines are focused on: the level of knowledge by students (from three strata), environmental issues presented in the methodology, in a universe of students in the mentioned levels. We developed mathematical and statistical models to direct the best prognostics (predictions in the environmental book elaborated) in terms of diagnosis collected in the field. The results achieved were:  Number of elementary schools: 36; Number of elementary schools: 26, randomized Total number of students from eighth Series (one class per school): 655; Total number of students randomized of eighth series of elementary school: 242; Number of high schools: 22; Number of high schools randomized: 18; Total number of students of 3rd year (one class per school): 423; Total number of students of 3rd year randomized middle school: 202; Total schools surveyed: 58; Total schools randomized: 44; Total of pupils in primary and secondary education: 1,078; Total students randomized in two levels: 444. As results of mathematical models obtained: Ignorance of thematic environmental elementary school: 37.78% Ignorance of thematic environmental high school: 50.61% Ignorance of thematic environmental joint analysis: 43.61% These results show that the thematic environmental knowledge in elementary schools is superior to the high schools. The statistical analyses for schools together, individually, comparative analyses on the same schools by medium and by mathematical models and comparative analyses of deviations show clearly the largest environmental knowledge of elementary schools about the high schools, in the official state schools of Santa Maria RS. The results obtained gave us contents on the Natural Resources for the preparation of the Objective Treaty on Environmental Education and Thematic Dictionary, whose material is made available to schools participating in the research agenda.
