Resumo: This work has been done based on the masters' degree research whose main goal was to problematize the existence of a deaf childhood in school. As a methodology of work, biographematics were built in the Barthes neologism' sense (1984), as a way to photograph moments lived and stories told in the form of words written on a paper. To figure out the reserch's catenation, the following statement was taken as a problem: to know and problematize the production of speeches that invent deaf childhood in school. In this sense, each biographematic accomplished has started one chapter of the dissertation, which is permeated by the discussion from theoretical grounds based on Deaf Studies and Cultural Studies in education. The main concepts that have moved this investigation act from a perspective in which a childhood is an invention of mankind, that school, a machinery built in modern times, is a device responsible for normalizing the childs' bodies and that the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), considered the first language of deaf subjects, is central within the schools for the deaf, a place where several families put their expectations in relation to the apprenticeship and constitution of deaf children. With discursive and non-discursive practices, problematizations are woven around a deaf childhood in school.
