The sport activities get a healthy life, they warrant mental well-being and the social meeting to people. The spaces to these activities must be suitable to them and must offer minimum conditions of comfort to the users. Therefore, in this paper the thermal performance of sport building from Santa Maria RS is analysed, in order to propose project recommendations aiming the adaptation to the temper climate. In this research context, sport buildings are gymnasiums whose court is bound by walls; in most cases, they have great volumetry and rectangular shape in plan. The analysis s emphasis is about the court room. The approach was by parsing of date from the temperature measurement. Internal and external temperatures were measured in four building types, regarded the most representative ones inside a total of twenty edifices. The thermal performance verified in studied buildings shows that great volume, higher values of thermal inertia and selective ventilation are the most relevant characteristics towards a building s positive performance in relation to the local climate. This study s contribution is to present informations about a type of edifice that have been little explored concerning thermal performance.
