This study aimed to understand the conceptions about the field of Non-Formal Education of professionals working in the Degree in Chemistry of Institutions of Higher Education of the State of Sergipe and map the actions developed by these professionals. To obtain the information, the interview technique was used. The results showed that the professionals involved in undergraduate courses in Chemistry are still lacking a theoretical foundation on Non Formal Education so they can actually infer the activities of such education. Representatives of education, teachers, coordinators and directors institutions report that no formal actions are not in large volume due to lack of appreciation of the extension activities, the educational institution that is where it is currently the most actions not formal. The lack of funding for state and national funding agencies and hence the reduced number of professionals for the dissemination of the Non-Formal Education activities are factors that also inhibit this type of action by the professionals of Chemistry . Despite all the difficulties reported, it appears that there is a significant number of projects of Universities and Colleges in the state of Sergipe which were classified as shares of Non-Formal Education and are contributing to the teaching of science, particularly the Teaching of Chemistry. It is important to have an appreciation of the Non-Formal Education in Science Teaching, which will certainly contribute to the dissemination and acquisition of knowledge of the sciences, and is of paramount importance that this fact pervades the inclusion in the curricula of undergraduate courses in science -related topics Non-Formal Education. |
