The intent of this dissertation is to find out whether there are two, not one, ontological arguments in the Proslogion, written by St. Anselm (1033-1109), as stated for the first time by Norman Malcolm (1911-1990), in opposition to what has always been thought. To do that, three steps were established: to make brief remarks about the life of Anselm and to present his arguments in the Proslogion, which is done in the first chapter; to analyze how Malcolm distinguishes the two arguments, which is done in the second chapter; to investigate whether Anselm himself understands that the Proslogion contains two ontological arguments and to decide, based on the previous steps, if there actually are two ontological arguments in the Proslogion, which is done in the third chapter.
