Resumo: Human history, mainly from the second phase of the industrial capitalist economic system, in the 18th century, demonstrated that the consumer society started to think of the nature system, as an economic resoure and no longer as natural wealth. In a relationship of domination, man has been exhausting and dilapidating nature as if these “resources” were inexhaustible, demonstrating, above all, the dichotomy between man and nature, causing environmental impacts, giving signs of (in) sustainability. In this context, the nations of the world, starting with the United Nations Conferences on the Human Environment, in 1972, in Stockholm, began to defines the directions and practices of this unsustainable society, recognizing Environmental Education as the element critical in combating the environmental crisis in the world. In this sense, the Sala Verde Project of the Ministry of the Environment, as a public policy on Environmental Education, emerges as a possibility for municipal environmental management in order to promote environmental education. In this sense, this research sought to analyze the contribution of the Sala Verde Project in environmental education in Sergipe for the construction of the ecological subject, through the construction of New Green Rooms. We believe that the existence of an articulation through a cooperation agreement between the federal and state government, hás contributed to the sifnificant advance of public environmental policies, at the municipal scale of Sergipe, mobilized through dissemination meetings, pedagogical support meeting, course Distance Education and face-to-face moment for the construction of New Green Rooms. Thus, the research brought as a central question the reflection on the efficiency of the Sala Verde Project, as an Environmental Education policy, in the process of raising awareness of the Ecological Subject. The method that guided it was based on dialectical analyzes, the methodological path in the qualitative and quantitative approach, with date collection techniques, based on documentary, bibliographic research, simple observation, semi-structured interviews and guiding questions. The methodology used in the intervention research was Pedagogical Workshops for the continuous training of municipal environmental managers of the New Green Rooms in Sergipe. Thus, in our final considerations, we consider that 30% of the managers of the New Green Rooms are ecological subjects, because they identify with the ecological ideal and that, therefore, they assumed the ecological values in their lives being subjects of sócio-environmental action, and believe in possibility of collective, social and planetary changes to a new corporate level. Denoting that they share the critical Environmental Education chain, politicizing the sócioenvironmental problem in its complexity, understanding that social participation and the exercise of citizenship are inseparable practices of environmental education, seeking autonomy and human freedoms in society, redefining the way we relate to our own. Species, with other species and with the planet. And while environmental educators in their pedagogical practices disseminate, stimulate and raise awareness to buld awareness of ecological ideals, precisely contributing to the formation of an ecological attitude and, consequently, to the formation of the ecological subject in Sergipe’s municipalities. And as na end product of this dissertation, an Electronic Environmental Education Primer was prepared for the municialities, with the proposal of the Sala Verde Project in Sergipe and the other Sergipe municipalities.
