Resumo: This work, qualitative, aims to identify and analyze how mathematics teachers of the 3rd vocational secondary school define their teaching strategies of this discipline content. The relevance of the research is the possibility to better understand the elements that interfere in this decision-making and choice made by teachers in middle level technical professional education courses aimed at preparing students for entry into the labor market. For data collection, the following instruments were used: questionnaires with students and teachers in order to be able to profile the same, and identify the vision have on the teaching of mathematics; semi-structured interviews with teachers, observation of classes, to support the analysis, and analysis of the course plan in order to identify planning methods defined by the teachers of the surveyed classes. The research subjects are the teachers, whose action is the focus of study, but also students, secondarily, contributing to the understanding of the process of teaching and learning mathematics.
