Increasing the productivity of horticulture in the region in recent years in state of Sergipe, led to intense use of resources such as soil and water and had as a consequence of worsening the sustainability of these systems agroecosystems inserted production objective of this study was to evaluate the environmental sustainability units of vegetables, the main product of the rule of vegetables in state of Sergipe. Some researchers used a methodology used in this work for some years showing good results. In this case involved the work with ten farmers of which five are organic management systems in their establishments and five are conventional management systems. With this group of ten farmers were selected indicators of quality of cropping systems to be evaluated and were built it s their descriptors. Parallel took place in the characterization of the profile of farmers in the two cropping systems and its conflicts. The results show that the indicators used and the methodology applied to allow family farmers of state of Sergipe understand and diagnose changes in production units. The methodology allowed complies with the specific objectives of the dissertation, concerning the construction from the local knowledge indicators of environmental quality. The methodology has to evaluate the environmental sustainability of units vegetables in state of Sergipe and on the basis of this assessment, consider the future management of these properties and improving the sustainability of agroecosystems. To make an overall assessment of the sustainability of production systems under study, other studies are needed to deepen the research in the areas, economic and technical them. |
