Resumo: Geography in Sergipe was included to elementary school course in 1854 just to consider Couto Ferraz reform. Due to missing financial resources from province, the studies in this área were done isolated. Although administrators view in 1840 were that it was necessary to have more “First Letters” classes – including Geography – though that graduation had only Latin, Logic an Retoric classes. The books adopted in that time did no have contents about Sergipe. They usually belonged to French authors. The content referred to Brazil was studied by Brazilian Corography byAires de Casal. With Republic, specifically from 1897 to 1927 were published some books in Sergipe and in Rio de Janeiro. They were written by Baianos and Sergipanos ahving local Geography aspects with clear didatic intention. From 1922 to 1965, Geography was included to Sergipana elementary school and it was also in that age which Geography subject had is intelectual field. In 1966 and 1967 two publishing presented new proposals of contents about Sergipe Geography. They changed and updated its contents that had nationalism patriotic ideology.
