Resumo: |
In Brazil, the socioenvironmental crisis can be observed as a result of disorderly urban growth in most cities. Driven by economic growth provided by the scientific advances, the urban expansion has contributed to the intensification of the environmental degradation which exists today. Since the awareness of the consequences of this degradation, around the 60's, concepts about models for sustainable development have been debated, reinforced by environmental ethics, in the pursuit to solve such impacts and to enable a balance between human beings and natural ecosystems, facing the responsibility towards nature and future generations. The relationship between urban planning and environmental ethics, despite being relevant to sustainable development, was neglected during decision making processes in the formation of urban space, and this debate has recently been deemed as necessary. Thus, the objective of this bibliographical and documentar research is to analyze the relationship between urban planning and environmental ethics as a decisive factor for public policy decisions in urban policies, through the analysis of two current Brazilian urban legislations, Estatuto da Cidade (Lei 10.257/2001) and Política Nacional de Mobilidade Urbana (Lei 12.587/2012), questioning the perspectives of environmental ethics in sustainable development and verifying the ethical foundations of urban planning. From this analysis, it seeks to understand how the insertion of environmental issues occurred in urban planning, in scope of the discussions about the human impact on the environment and sustainable development, as a possible way to solve this crisis. This research aims, ultimately, to subsidize the debate on the processes of production of the urban space and motivate the progress of urban policies and decision making processes that contemplate a healthier relationship between humans and nature. |
