Resumo: The Parque Nacional Serra de Itabaiana (PARNASI) has a wide geodiversity, such as rocky outcrops, caves, waterfalls, among others, as well as cultural resources associated with its geological heritage (stories, legends and religious manifestations involving the Itabaiana range and some points of visitation). This geodiversity shows the great pontential for the pratice of Geotourism in the PARNASI that is a tourist modality that uses geological and geomorphological aspects to appreciate and understand theses elements. Geotourism complements ecotourism in the characterization of natural heritage, highlighting and valuing the abiotic aspects of the natural landscape, being used as a tactic for socioeconomic and sustainable development in some regions, through geoconservation (conservation of geological heritage). The aim of this research was to identify geodiversity with geotouristic potential in PARNASI, through the characterization and description of the geological/ geomorphological and cultural aspects involved in the scope of the Park for the contextualization of geotourism scripts; the preparation of a map of the geotouristic trails and an illustrative folder and the proposal of insertion for the execution of this activity, for the complementation of the guidelines for the practice of sustainable tourism in PARNASI. The research approach is qualitative, descriptive, where the bibliographic survey was used as methodology for its execution; the planning of the field missions, to collect the data in the study area, with elaboration of preliminary maps (geological, geomorphological and topographic) for the recognition of the area during the fields; the use of inventory as an initial kick-off of the heritage geoconservation strategies contained in PARNASI; marking of tracks, through points georeferenced by GPS receiver; photographic records, for visualization of the scenic beauty provided by the geological heritage. As a result, the geotouristic potential of the Poço das Maças and Rio das Pedras areas and their trails were characterized in their geological / geomorphological, historical-cultural and tourist aspects, the map of the geotouristic trails and illustrative folders were elaborated, being discussed the use of the information in environmental awareness and in the practice of geotourism. In addition, the involvement of surrounding communities is discussed, through joint actions with the management of PARNASI, in the practice of this activity, as a way of improving socioenvironmental, sociocultural and socioeconomic relations affected with the implementation of this CU. The inclusion of geotourism in the sustainable activities of PARNASI, in partnership with the surrounding communities, will positively reflect on the socialenvironmental relations which they are inserted, improving the socioeconomic aspects and geoconserving the socio-cultural. Therefore, it is concluded that by improving economic relationship with the use of geotourism, as means of income for the residents of the surroundings, the valorization and geoconservation of heritage will also preserve the identity of a people that located near the Itabaiana range, being the geoheritage the basis and witness of the evolution of the local biodiversity.
