As metodologias ativas de ensino e aprendizagem na promoção da qualidade do ensino superior: uma análise no curso de medicina do campus UFS Lagarto

Resumo: In the teaching learning process, the knowledge that was previously held, in most cases, under the responsibility of the teacher, has been changing with the implementation of active methodologies. The emergence of these methodologies, to a large extent, occurred initially in the courses of Health, but over the years was also used in other areas of education, such as Applied Social Sciences and Exact. In the study object of the presen t research, the Medicine course of the Federal University of Sergipe, Professor Antônio Garcia Filho Campus in the municipality of Lagarto / Sergipe, the use of active teaching learning methodologies has been a reality since the implementation of Campus in the year of 2009, the pionerism in implanting the active methodologies in its eight courses offered, raised the interest in investigating this institution, as well as the interrelationship of active methodologies and quality of higher education. Initially the aim of the research was to verify how the active methodologies applied in the UFS Campus Lagarto medical course influence the quality of teaching , besides establishing a plan of action with suggestions for improvement in quality of the teaching and le arning process. To this end, 34 questionnaires were applied to students of the III Cycle of the Medicine course and 4 personal interviews with managers and teachers of the Campus Lagarto. It was verified that the active methodologies form an autonomous stu dent, who studies continuously, creative in the new proposals of problem solving, critical subject, responsible for its learning process, that applies what learned in the classroom in its routine. In the proposed action plan for the management of the Campu s Lagarto, aspects to be improved in this teaching learning process regarding the physical and pedagogical structures offered by the Campus were indicated, which, after improvements, would lead to a better result in the student's learning process.
