Resumo: The present thesis aimed to analyze the spatial dynamics of orange production in Sergipe, as well as to understand the state's peripheral situation in relation to the southeast region of Brazil leads the production. Although Sergipe is set up as the periphery of the circuit, the citrus production represents much for the municipalities, even before the crisis faced since the decade of 1990. The main municipalities that produces oranges in Sergipe are Lagarto, Riachão do Dantas, Arauá, Boquim, Cristinápolis, Itabaianinha, Pedrinhas, Salgado, Tomar do Geru, Umbaúba, Estância, Indiaroba, Santa Luzia do Itanhy and Itaporanga D’Ajuda. For this purpose, it was considered both the industries of freezing of juices, as the basis of their production (orange), which involves all the complexity of the agrarian issue in the state and in the country, as well as the circles of cooperation, which interweave each one of the phases of spatial circuits of production, not forgetting the peasant inserted in this process of the commodity market. In the state of Sergipe, the small producer has not seen the way out to overcome the crisis, the largest plantation is of the industry, and a considerable part of the oranges used for the production of juice comes from other states. In this way, many peasants are giving up the plantation of it, or are continuing to cultivate it together with other plantations, in addition to seeking other ways to reproduce socially. However, although modified by time, they keep the peasant way of life, the relationship with the land, the peculiar way of circumventing their challenges in times of crisis and the tenacity to overcome obstacles. They are resilient, strong and are always seeking alternatives for their reproduction and permanence on the land.
