Resumo: The oil industry, since its beginnings in the 19th century, was already an essential energy source in the way of life of societies, especially of world powers. Petrochemical exploration on the offshore platform of the Brazilian Atlantic coast continued in a manner associated with the environmental and social degradation of the living territories of coastal communities. The state of Sergipe was one of the pioneers in the country's oil activity, placing Brazil within the international capital dispute. As a result, the exploration of Green Petroleum Coke (CVP) gained prominence in production among petroleum byproducts. In the village of Jatobá, located in the municipality of Barra dos Coqueiros/SE, the storage of this substance presents itself as a problem for the environmental and collective health of these communities. Therefore, this research had the general objective: to analyze the socio-environmental impacts arising from the petrochemical industry present in the Jatobá community, in the municipality of Barra dos Coqueiros, in Sergipe. The research was based on the Post-structuralist method in Foucault (2021), Deleuze and Guatari (1995) and has the body-territory as its concept-category, in dialogue with the reflections of complex thinking in Leff (2000, 2003). With this, it promoted an interdisciplinary analysis of the research problem, which was qualitative, basic and exploratory, and for this purpose bibliographical and documentary research, fieldwork and rhizomes were used to achieve the proposed objective. The activity of Artisanal Fishing is built on the use of the body, in the waters of rivers, estuaries and/or the sea, and within this dynamic, women shellfish gatherers and artisanal fishermen tend to be even more vulnerable to the risks of contamination by CVP, asin addition to being responsible for guaranteeing the food and health of their families, they suffer domination and exploitation in their bodies-territories, arising from the colonial-patriarchal system. It was possible to understand how power and resistance are intertwined, and sometimes these forms of power and resistance are confused and move around, like in the political game, nothing is static, the speeches are not static either and take on forms of rhizome.
