Resumo: In general, technology has provided the world with a better quality of life, especially in education, where it has emerged as a strong ally, playing a fundamental role in expanding the horizons of the classroom and promoting significant changes in the ways of teaching and learning. Digital artifacts, in particular, have contributed to the dissemination of knowledge about science and promoting scientific literacy in society. YouTube®, as a digital educational platform, has provided free and democratic access to knowledge in various areas, including for the lay public in science, enabling learning in periods and spaces outside the school context, aiding in the understanding of complex concepts. In this scenario, the importance of discussing scientific content shared through digital media arises, especially regarding educational videos. In this context, the present study proposes to investigate the potential of videos published on YouTube® about electric energy as a strategy for Scientific Education. This research is based on previous works on scientific education, including research by Attico Chassot and Wildson L. P. Santos, as well as ideas for updating the Teaching of Physics proposed by Marco Antonio Moreira. Using a qualitative approach with a Netnographic character, the data collection process consisted of selecting YouTube® videos using the keyword "Electric energy." Data analysis was conducted based on evaluative criteria established by the studies of Luiz Fernando Gomes. The results obtained highlight the relevance of the indicated selection criteria, presenting an effective strategy for teachers and students to access quality content and improve their scientific knowledge.
