Resumo: This Final Conclusion Work (TCF) of the Professional Master of Arts (PROFLETRAS) aims to present an intervention practice directed to students of the 7th Year of Elementary Education II, in a State School in the city of Capela / SE, related to the literary reading of the short stories “The husband of the Mother of water”, “The three companions” and “The good is paid for with good” present in the work Traditional Tales of Brazil, by Luís da Câmara Cascudo, in order to encourage reading, criticality, valuing Brazilian cultural identity. Therefore, the proposed activities described are anchored in the assumptions of Cosson (2010) about the reader and the literary text, Bordini and Aguiar (1988) through the reference to the Receptive Method, Moisés (1967), Córtazar (2011), Bosi (1977), for the study of tales, among others. Based on the theoretical contribution based on Michel Thiollent's Research-Action Methodology (2011) and on the new teaching concepts that involve the BNCC (National Curriculum Common Base), the present work will include reading workshops, textual production of retextualization , dramatization using the technique of animated forms - stick puppets - and a reflection on the importance of reading and interactivity at school. With regard to the final product, we built a video tutorial “From the short story to the dramatic genre: Literary reading tutorial as a proposal for the formation of the reader” that summarizes the main stages of the activity developed in this research. With this, it is expected to contribute to the formation of critical readers in order to make them aware of the importance of the practice of reading and valuing popular culture.
