Comportamentos de risco à saúde em adolescentes de Aracaju e região metropolitana

Resumo: Concern about risk behavior in adolescents is something that has been widely reported in the literature, mainly because of the strong association between behaviors learned in adolescence and into adulthood. From this perspective this paper aims to identify the prevalence of health risk behaviors and associated factors in adolescents from Public Hich Schools in Aracaju and Metropolitan Region, Sergipe State, Brazil. The sample was composed for 2207 students who were randomized and stratified by municipality: Aracaju, São Cristovão,Barra dos Coqueiros and Nossa Senhora do Socorro. The data were collected from the use of an instrument built from three validated questionnaires for the Brazilian population who identified: a) prevalence of low levels of physical activity, b) prevalence of violent behavior, c) prevalence of multiple risk behaviors . Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the binary Logistics and Poisson regression. In all analyzes was used significance level of 5% (p <0.05). The results were presented in three manuscripts: "Low physical activity levels and associated factors in Brazilian adolescents from public high school", "Factors associated with violent behavior in adolescents from brazilian northeast" and "Health risk behavior and associated factors in the high schools adolescents". It was concluded what: a) there is a high prevalence of low physical activity levels and the females are associated to older age and lack of physical education classes and, for males, only the associated for schooling of father; b) the prevalence of violent behavior was associated with the consuption of cigarretes and alcohol in both sexes; c) the males are associated with the carrying weapons, and involvement in fights and marijuana use, while the females is associated with lows physical activity levels and the higher number of hours watching TV; d) the 14-16 years old group spend more hours watching TV, while the 17-18 years old group is associated with the consuption of cigarretes and alcohol, and marijuana use; e) youths of higher social status are associated with carrying weaapons, involvement in fights and consuption of alcoholic beverage.
