The study aims to investigate the creation and implementation process of the Itabaiana Trade Technical School, its operation and the impacts on training of professional accountants. The collections were consulted: Historical and Geographical Institute of Sergipe, Sergipe Public Archive, Metropolitan Curia Archive of Aracaju and the Archive of St. Anthony´s Parish and Soul Itabaiana; General Archive of the Federal University of Sergipe. The sources identified and led to the drafting of that institution´s history and knowledge of their training practices were: Official documents (laws and decrees), oral testimony, photographs, newspaper |The Crusade|, and studies related to the theme. The main categories of analysis used are based on the assumptions of the History of Education and Cultural History, including: school culture (Julia, 2001); representation and appropriation (Chartier, 1990); social and cultural capital (Bourdieu, 1982; 2004) strategy and tactics (de Certeau, 1998). The study is based on bibliographic and documentary historical research. Search up with the search result contribute to studies of Sergipe educational historiography, particularly vocational education, in the second half of the twentieth century.
