Carvalho Déda e o jornal "A Semana" : visibilidade na educação (1946-1969)

Resumo: The printed newspaper has been widely used in studies of the history of education, bringing different modes of organization, contents and forms, according to the evolution of time. This study aimed to analyze the educational nature of publications printed newspaper "The Week," created and directed by José de Carvalho Deda, in the town of Simão Dias / Sergipe, between the years of 1946 to 1969 was analyzed, especially as the educational practices, education professionals and educational institutions were treated in the printed newspaper. Thus, the object and source of research was the appropriate form, also relying on oral and documentary sources. For the development work we used the theoretical contribution of authors who discuss the History of Education as: Nunes (1984), Le Goff (2003), Luca (2005), Barros (2010), Sobral (2012) among others. During the analysis, it was observed that the newspaper said in its publications: school festivities, primary and vocational education, implementation of the junior high school, educational policy that, among other matters, contributed to give visibility to education in the municipality. Moreover, it presented campaigns related to the issue of illiteracy, poor teaching conditions and the appreciation of teachers, especially in defense of the school group "Fausto Cardoso" and the creation of schools "Carvalho Neto" and Industrial.
