Resumo: |
The present work is based on the assumption that space is altered by individuals, who transform its meaning and the functions of the environment in an attempt to meet needs that this space did not previously provide, whether these interventions were planned or not. From this, this study aimed to understand the action of residents and traders on urban green spaces (EVU), public squares, in the Expansion Zone of the city of Aracaju (SE). The lens of Environmental Psychology that investigates the interrelationship between people and environment was used to observe the phenomenon of appropriation of space carried out by the local population, supported by the perspective of Tactical Urbanism, which is an urbanism practice focused on the microscale intervention of cities. The research is characterized as exploratory research, carried out through observation of the physical environment and data collection with the target population. For this, unsystematic observations were made, application of evaluation matrices, behavioral maps and semi-structured interviews. As a result, the study highlighted that the relevance of the analyzed squares is directly related to the social interactions and demands of the public, both with regard to the uses and the functions they perform and that the socioeconomic and socioenvironmental relations are affected by the changes arising from the appropriation. of the individual or group over the public space. By studying EVU through the lens of Environmental Psychology and Tactical Urbanism, this study sought to contribute to the development of new research based on the established relationship between personenvironment and to increase the visibility of collective agency in public spaces. |
