Resumo: |
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different intensities of grazing on dry matter accumulation, morphological composition and the forage in different cultivars of Brachiaria brizantha. The treatment consisted of three cultivars of Brachiaria brizantha (Marandú, Xaraés and MG4) and four defoliation intensities (10, 20, 30 and 40 cm) during the period August 2010 to July 2011 in the rural campus of the Federal University of Sergipe an area already established, soil correction being performed in accordance with the cultural demands. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replications in a 3x4 factorial. Cultivars showed significant under different intensities of defoliation, total dry matter accumulation and leaf, percentage of dead material and canopy height. When subjected to different intensities of defoliation no significant effect to the buildup of thatch, thatched percentage, the forage density and leaf: stem ratio. Cultivars and Marandú Xaraés showed higher accumulation of leaf largest canopy height and leaf: stem ratio than the MG4. The intensities of defoliation of 30 and 40 cm were the most suitable for presenting smaller accumulation and concentration stem and higher Sheet: Colmo. Participation of green material in dry matter and dry matter residue is highly influenced by the intensity of defoliation. |
