Resumo: The inclusion of education is the most burning issue in educational policy studies, including higher education. The Federal Government, through the Public Policy Education, seeks to establish an education for all, based on the 1988 Federal Constitution, promoting various actions, such as the Support Program me for the Restructuring and Expansion of Federal Universities (REUNI). Through this program, was established at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), the Affirmative Action Policy, instituting quotas pursuant to Resolution nº 80/2008/CONEPE. This policy ensures disadvantaged groups to enter the University through the openings for undergraduate courses for people with disabilities. With this action, the UFS is faced with the challenge of seeing boosted the number of students with disabilities. The growing inflow of the handicapped in this University is due to these affirmative action policies. However, people with disabilities need a fully accessible environment to minimize the emergence of barriers during the university career and enable completion of graduation. The objective of this study was therefore to identify the accessibility problems faced by persons with physical disabilities at the Federal University of Sergipe, specifically in the City University Professor José Aloísio de Campus. Hence, in this work, we opted for the proposed case study, from the kind of qualitative research without ignoring the quantitative issue. The main results of this investigation show that there is much to be done to actually include the handicapped in the City University Professor José Aloísio de Campos, Because there we found barriers such as lack of access to buildings with two floors, bathrooms without adaptation for the disabled person, floors without maintenance, among others.
