The performance standard, NBR 15.575 (ABNT, 2013), is a mark in Brazilian civil construction. Thus, the research proposed to investigate how the process of organizational adaptation of the builders of Sergipe to the performance standard. The research had as main objective to investigate the process of organizational adaptation of Sergipe’ constructors in front of the implementation of the performance standard. The research was carried out from a multiple case studies, with exploratory and descriptive characteristics. Data were collected from interviews with representatives of 16 construction companies. The interviews were later transcribed and the data were treated both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the project phase gained more attention from the construction companies and that the mobilization for testing is still shy by companies interviewed. Regarding the elaboration of the use and operation manual, a tendency to service outsourcing was observed, aiming at better quality. With regard to organizational changes, the builders generally invested in employee training, some companies have hired consultants to help in adapting to the standard, but there is still much to be done. Maturity matrix, based on respondents' responses, also showed this. In the opinion of the interviewees, the performance standard has already impacted on the routine of the construction companies, however, in their view, an even greater mobilization occurs when customers demand judicially the performance of your properties. It is concluded that the companies made organizational changes in its various sectors to meet the requirements for the implementation of the performance standard, intensifying learning and collaboration, but reporting as impediments high financial investments in times of economic crisis. |
