Resumo: Life territories are correlations between the materiality of earth-waterbody relation, mediated by the subjective imaginary. Therefore, re-exist the emergency of rethinking how the connection between artisanal fishing and life sustainability might generate the ethical values strengthening in environmental citizenship. In reference to waterbodies and associated ecosystems’ pollution increase, which directly affects the artisanal fisherman life territories, we reflect about traditional people’s source of livelihood. In this direction, this dissertation paper aims to analyze the work of Artisanal Fishing in the man-nature-education-environmental citizenship relation, in Salt River – in the thorp of São Braz, located in the city of Nossa Senhora do Socorro/Sergipe. The approaching methodology used in our analysis was the Historical and Dialectical Materialism. So, with the intent of promoting the operationalization of the proposed objects, the selection of the space, the place, the meaning and the art of the work, the following procedures were conducted: qualitative and quantitative researches; field researches in which the observations were free and participative; semi-structured interviews, photos and the making of an educational product: a video documentary. To show the process of construction of the research results, we used tools as graphics, pictures, map, cloud of words, photos and video documentary. We analyzed the artisanal fishing work and the life sustainability from a dialectical point. In our final considerations, we ponder that the metamorphoses of the artisanal fishing consist in a potential factor, responsible for changing traditional territories dynamic. We understand that the anglers disseminate culture and traditional knowledge, from the development of their economic activities, and when it suffers changes or “progressions”, those are tendentiously reflected in social, environmental and economic relations inside the life territory. Therefore, in the ethical environmental perspective, changes in citizens’ values and ways of acting may contribute with the process of construction of Socially Just, Ecologically Correct and Intellectually Critical Subjects, what has as result an awareness of each subject in relation to the conservation of nature.
