Resumo: This research was conducted with the members of Sergipe's Integrated Association of Public Safety Women (ASIMUSEP). The research aimed to understand the Association's performance within the Sergipe Public Security scenario and its insertion processes in the different organs to which the members belong. The categories gender, identity representations and women were used to think about the female performance in this field of work. The research was developed from the participant observation technique in the events promoted by the association (such as October Rose, Race to combat violence against women, Feijoada from ASIMUSEP) among others. Interview scripts were also applied with the associates in order to qualitatively analyze the interviews and the meanings extracted from their speeches to understand the role of women in Public Security in Sergipe, as well as the closer ties between associates and ASIMUSEP. The paper reported the creation of ASIMUSEP and its pioneering role in bringing together several Public Security professionals in one place and the challenges arising from this proposal, contributing to the debate around research on Women and Public Security not only in Sergipe, but also in Brazil, given the uniqueness of the Sergipe Integrated Women's Association of Public Security.
