Resumo: The Reading is the central subject of this dissertation that the purpose was analyze the students’intentionalities, aspirations and livingness of reading from Dom Luciano School. To understand what in fact the Centre of Excellence’students read and like to read, the sociological listening and analyse elucidating substantial diagnose in this research. Through of Sociology of Education’ studies was available the theoreticalinvestigative support necessary to explain the relation among Family, school and social setting. Factors such as habitus, social class, linguistic codes, individual provisions, western civilization and singular relationships with the knowledge are the main sources of debate in this work. The methodology of research is based in observation field, interviews and surveys face-to-face and virtually with the students, teachers and parents. Indeed, the family is a one of central points of discussion, as far as the relationship of teenagers with the reading is directly linked to their family tie which is responsible for the first socialization since childhood. In this particular case, the parents´presence in this reality has shown itself improvident in the children’s reading practice, intencionally or not. Nevertheless, there are exceptional families which promote the reading in the children’lives even with social and financial limitations. The school, hence, provides continuation of familiar experiences with the reading as well as immerse the student into a partial and social classes system. Moreover, the new information technologies aggregated at cultural industry predominate among the recreation reading of these high school’s students according to the consolidates diagnosis.
