Resumo: This study aims to analyze how affirmative action, quotas above, is a condition in social relations in Brazil, especially in academic contexts, place of excellence and practice of this feature. Thus, this paper discusses how to consist the experiences of students who use the system to reserve places in the courses of Medicine and Law at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and its relationship with the academic world. The choice of these courses is given on behalf of the social status that they carry with them , in addition to being the two airlines to know with greater dispute vacancies in Federal University of Sergipe, when the vestibular recorded in decades. Through fieldwork, questionnaires and interviews sought to understand narrative experiences that are being built by these quota students and non- shareholders on the subject. We emphasize that the construction which sought to make the process of the quota policy and affirmative action as a phenomenon passed by both the narratives of the subjects who used the system , as well as those who did not use it directly. Thus, this thesis aims to understand the dimensions as determinant present in the narrative experience of students graduations of Medicine and Law and truly implication of this question, especially as the senses employed by them to affirmative action, linked to perceptions of justice, equality, education, public school, meritocracy, and finally social and racial inequality. From a methodological design that elected the interview and field construction as essential factors for the success of the research, we seek to understand how social relations post- quota and his senses are being developed in the context of the UFS. Notably, the experiences and narratives that seeks to understand not just pass by the behavior and speech of students, but also the other members of the academic community, such as teachers.
