Resumo: |
The farmer woman plays an important role in Brazilian family agriculture. Her efforts, whether in rural production or at home, are essential to ensure food security for her family and society, in addition to contributing directly and indirectly to the country's socioeconomic development. The importance of her role, however, is not proportionately reflected in the recognition of her work which is often undervalued. Therefore, it is necessary that government entities adopt measures that support the family farmer woman and favor her efforts. One of these measures is PRONAF, which grants rural credit to fund and invest in family farming activities, with an exclusive line of credit for women. However, the access of women farmers to PRONAF is still limited, there are factors that difficult this access and that need to be better analyzed. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyze the process of access and use of credit lines offered by PRONAF in the context of women farmers in the municipality of Piaçabuçu/AL. To achieve this objective, a case study was conducted with women family farmers in the municipality of Piaçabuçu/AL, associated with the cooperativa of Family farmers called COOPAIBA. Data collection toke place through semi-structured interviews, direct observation and documentary research. The collected data were analyzed through content and document analysis. Based on the results, it was concluded that the factors that hinder or facilitate the access process of women farmers to PRONAF credit lines can be divided into four major dimensions: Social Relations, Family Relationship, Documentation required by the institutions and Disclosure and Access to information. It was also found that at the heart of the factors that most influence access to rural credit is the quality of dissemination and transfer of information, which is currently precarious, requiring that all actors involved in this process adapt their ways of disseminating information and guiding the farmers. |
