Resumo: |
Education is a phenomenon produced by a social reality organized over time, composed of institutions, individuals, ideas and practices. The Brazilian educational universe of the 1960s, 70s and 80s was affected by the civil-military dictatorship introduced in the country with the 1964 coup d'état. The present work seeks to present the political-ideological position of the directors of the Centro Cívico Major Cosme de Farias located at Colégio Estadual Luiz Viana Filho, about this dictatorship and how the disciplinary power acted through this institution. This school institution is located in Guanambi, a city in the interior of Bahia, and was responsible for the formation of many children and young people in that period and still today. This way, this research investigates how a school institution in the interior of Bahia was influenced by changes resulting from the educational policy of the military in power; the civic ideology and the excessively patriotic feeling of the dictatorial regime and its various forms of expression through the Civic Centers; the History’s contents present and articulated to the actions of the Major Cosme de Farias Civic Center during this period, despite the attenuation of its teaching through Opinion No. 853/71, of November 12, 1971; and, finally, the deviations of conduct of this CCE at the laws and norms established by the dictatorial regime. The sources used in this production were laws, decrees, reports, plans, statute, minute books, class diaries, teacher time sheets, student records, textbooks, student school project, school evaluation and newspapers, located in the archive and in the warehouse from Colégio Luiz Viana. This collection of documents allows us to visualize how education in the interior of Bahia was affected by an “authoritarian culture” and the performance of a Civic Center in this context in this region. |
